The subcommittee heard testimony on the extent of a severe drought in several countries in southern Africa which has been continuing for twenty months. Witnesses testified on relief programs for the victims of the drought, as well as the president of Kenya’s request for emergency aid for the drought’s victims in his country and other countries in Africa. close
