Kimberly Dozier talked about her book, Breathing Fire: Fighting to Report -- and Survive -- the War in Iraq (Meredith Books; May 13, 2008). Kimberly Dozier was reporting on the war in Iraq in 2006 when she became the victim of a car bomb. The explosion, which left her seriously injured, killed two members of her CBS News team, her military escort, and an Iraqi translator. She discussed that experience and her long road to recovery with guest interviewer Lee Woodruff, whose husband Bob Woodruff of ABC News was also seriously injured in Iraq in 2006. Lee and Bob Woodruff are the co-authors of In an Instant: A Family’s Journey of Love and Healing.

CBS correspondent Kimberly Dozier began covering the war in Iraq in August of 2003. Prior to that, she served as the London bureau chief and chief European correspondent for CBS Radio News and a reporter for CBS News television (1996-2002). She is the recipient of the 2008 Peabody Award. close
