As part of a conference on President George W. Bush’s second term, Mr. Johnson presented a paper written by Michael Genovese of Loyola Merrymount that compared the president’s first and second term domestic agendas, and the process of creating each. Mr. Brattebo presented a paper written by Jeff Cohen of Fordham that described the president’s economic policy as “responsibility with limited authority.” He highlighted the tax and other policy choices the president is facing in his second term and the long-term fiscal stresses related to an aging population. After their presentations they answered audience members' questions. close
