The participants announced the release of a Council report titled, “Creating Livable Communities.” The report identifies barriers to developing communities where it is easy for the disabled to live, and recommends methods for overcoming those barriers. Topics included appropriate housing, transportation options, ways to be engaged with fellow community members, participation in cultural and recreational activities, affordable housing, safety, and the legislation to accomplish these conditions. After their remarks the participants answered audience members' questions. close
