The American Assembly public policy forum continued its series of panel discussions on American national security with a discussion of the non-military aspects of America’s security, including the use of economic strategies to further American interests, technological transfers, and American competitiveness on global political and economic markets. Other issues concerning America’s security discussed by the panel included domestic issues affecting security such as drugs, the environment, and migration and refugees. The American Assembly brings together approximately 60 public policy leaders to discuss a current topic in public policy. Through a consensus building process, the forum determines public policy initiatives which are published and widely distributed by the Assembly following the conference. close
