As part of the Association’s 2006 national conference, “Looking at the Department of Homeland Security,” Mr. Oxford talked about nuclear materials detection. He said his office is responsible for detecting attempts to import, store, develop, or transport nuclear or radiological material. He included concerns about both terrorist and non-terrorist possession of these materials. Other topics included the use of advanced radiation detection equipment and helping other agencies with detection issues. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.
