Mr. Theodore Friend talked about his book, Indonesian Destinies, published by Belknap Press. In his book, Mr. Friend traces the history of Indonesia, from its independence in 1945 to the present. Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim country, with over 230 million people, nearly 90% of whom are followers of Islam. Mr. Friend talked about the recent uprisings, terrorist attacks, and other challenges facing Indonesia. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from the audience. close
