Witnessed testified at a Senate hearing regarding the use of tobacco in motion pictures and whether such portrayals lead to smoking among children and adolescents. Dr. Dalton presented a study on the subject. Other issues discussed included the desirability of government regulation, freedom of expression for filmmakers, and educational projects of governments and the motion picture industry.
