Senator Biden was the keynote speaker at the Galivants Ferry Stump, introduced by former Senator Fritz Hollings. After his speech he greeted supporters in the crowd.

The Galivants Ferry Stump claims to be the oldest and largest continuously held stump meeting in America, dating back to 1876. It was held at the customary Pee Dee Farms, the community’s century-old general store.

The 2006 Stump followed its traditional festival format of bluegrass music and clogging before the stump speeches. In addition to Senator Biden, the 2006 Stump featured statewide, federal, and local candidates. close
