Defining Neoconservatism

Richard Perle, former assistant secretary of defense for international security policy in the Reagan administration, talked about foreign policy in the Obama administration and his article in the January/February issue of The National Interest, “Ambushed on the Potomac.” He predicted that there would not be a great deal of change in a foreign policy that was managed by the State Department rather than the White House under the previous administration. Topics included the concept of a neoconservative “conspiracy,” how to deal with North Korea and Iran, and the future of the “neocon” agenda. He responded to questions from members of the audience.
