Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair General Martin Dempsey held a press briefing. Following remarks they answered reporter’s questions. Secretary Hagel acknowledged that the military could no longer put off military compensation reform. Regarding the Budget Conference Committee agreement passed by the House and Senate, both said they believed it was a good thing for the military because it would provide some stability. General Dempsey also said the budget would allow the military to deal with some readiness issues. close
