Mr. DiRita spoke to reporters about the terrorist attacks in Jordan. Following his brief remarks, he responded to questions and comments from the reporters. Among the issues he addressed were operations in Jordan, the nomination of Navy Secretary Gordon England to become Deputy Secretary of Defense, and the terrorist acts of Iraqi Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Mr. DiRita mentioned that General Conway was unavailable for the press briefing in deference to the celebration of the U.S. Marine Corps' birthday. close
