Admiral Mullen called on Congress to avert the so-called fiscal cliff and lay a framework for debt reduction and economic growth over the next ten years. He joined former Senators and House Armed Services Committee Chairmen to urge Congress to act and avoid sequestration. Mullen said the next Congress will have to tackle tax reform, entitlement spending, and rising health care cost. Additional speakers included: Armed Services Committee Chairmen Sam Nunn, Ike Skelton, and John Warner. The Coalition for Fiscal and National Security hosted the discussion in Washington, DC. close
