Democratic presidential candidate and former Governor Howard Dean (D-VT) was at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii to receive what are believed to be his brother’s remains. Charlie Dean was captured in Laos during the Vietnam War and is believed to have been killed in 1974. Australian Ian Sharman was the brother of Neil Sharman who died with Charlie Dean in Laos. The remains of Dean and Sherman were exhumed in central Laos along with two, yet to be identified U.S. soldiers. close
