This is the 13th day of hearings by this Senate Judiciary Subcommittee in the investigation of the Ruby Ridge incident. Jamie Gorelick, Deputy Attorney General, gave testimony about the 11 day siege that occurred in August of 1992. The incident in question began when U.S Marshall’s tried to execute a bench warrant for the arrest of Randy Weaver. Weaver’s son Sammy and U.S Marshall William Degan were both killed in an initial shootout. The FBI joined in the siege and the following day, Weaver’s wife Vicki was killed by an FBI sniper. The hearings were held to determine whether the actions of law enforcement involved in the case went to far in executing the initial warrant and in the subsequent siege. close
