At an afternoon session of a second national student leadership conference and call to action for Darfur, panelists talked about violence in the Darfur region of Sudan. The first panel concentrated on the problems of sexual violence and methods of suppression in tribal warfare. A second panel of correspondents talked about media coverage of the violence, genocide, and political problems of the region. Mr. Wilkins gave the keynote address, concentrating on international responses to the violence and genocide, inaction and denial in the face of such crimes, and the need for international action on the behalf of victims. After each portion members of the audience posed questions to the participants. close
