Richard Norton Smith interviewed former Representative Dan Rostenkowski about his life and career. Rep. Rostenkowski served as the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee from 1981-95. He related stories about his days in politics, and his dealings with Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, President Johnson, and President Reagan. He also talked about his arrest and imprisonment for mail fraud while he served in Congress.

The event, which was part of the museum’s “Evenings to Remember” series, took place in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum’s Union Theater. close
