A ceremony was held at the National World War II memorial to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day. Professor Craig Symonds, author of Neptune: The Allied Invasion of Europe and the D-Day Landings, served as Master of Ceremonies. As part of the ceremony, representatives from each of the Allied Nations that took part in the Normandy Campaign placed wreaths at the Freedom Wall of the National World War II Memorial. The event was hosted by Friends of the National World War II Memorial. close
