Former President Bill Clinton spoke to reporters and answered questions at the White House daily briefing following a meeting with President Obama. He talked about the deal struck between President Obama and congressional Republican leaders on tax cuts and unemployment benefits, the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, his meeting with President Obama, and other topics. 
President Clinton’s appearance was a surprise to reporters in the room, and was more unusual when President Obama left the room for a prior engagement while President Clinton continued to answer questions.
