Jonathan Allen was interviewed by phone about the back story surrounding House Republicans' decision to accept Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s proposal to end the House-Senate impasse on extending Social Security payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits. The agreement is that Senate Majority Leader Reid will appoint conference committee members in exchange for House passage of the Senate’s already-passed two-month extension.
