As part of a project sponsored by C-SPAN to encourage dialog between students and national figures, Candy Crowley talked to students at Cardoza High School in Washington, D.C. about careers in journalism. After her presentation, she answered questions from the students. Candy Crowley is CNN's senior political correspondent. She has covered every presidential campaign since 1984, as well as numerous gubernatorial and congressional races, including being part of the CNN team that won an Emmy for its coverage of the 2006 midterm elections. She also reports on major legislative events on Capitol Hill. Ms. Crowley started in journalism as a newsroom assistant at WASH Radio in Washington, DC. She later covered the White House for the Associated Press. After that, she moved to television journalism as a correspondent in NBC's Washington Bureau.
