Law enforcement officials announced the implementation of the National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan, a new program for sharing intelligence information among law enforcement agencies. The National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan was developed by the Global Justice Information Sharing Advisory Committee as a direct result of recommendations made at the 2002 intelligence sharing summit hosted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police in response to the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. It is the method by which law enforcement agencies can prioritize, mobilize and coordinate their cooperative efforts and communicate with the Justice Intelligence Coordinating Council. close
