Robert Manning talked about a new documentary on consumer debt in the United States. A brief clip of the film was shown. He was an editorial adviser for the film, In Debt We Trust, from Altacliff Films, which looks at how credit cards are offered to consumers, the relation between consumer debt and the U.S. economic picture, the influence that the financial services industry has on Congress and bankruptcy legislation in Congress. Mr. Manning screened the film on the previous day for members of Congress. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.

Robert Manning is the author of Credit Card Nation: The Consequences of America’s Addiction to Credit, published by Basic Books. close
