Panelists talked about media coverage of the U.S. Supreme Court in the digital age. Topics included media access to the justices and cases, the future of technology allowed in court coverage, and whether justices follow their press coverage. The co-founders of SCOTUSblog talked about the difficulties they had encountered, such as not being granted press passes and tweeting being forbidden in the Court.

In 2012 SCOTUS became the first blog to receive a Peabody Award. The event titled “SCOTUSblog: Supreme Court Coverage and Cases,” held in the University of Georgia Richard B. Russell Special Collections Library, was sponsored by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Peabody Awards, and the University of Georgia School of Law. close
