Escorted by former Senator Coats, Supreme Court nominee Judge Alito went to Capitol Hill for more meetings with senators, some of whom held brief news conferences afterwards. His first stop of the day was at the office of Wisconsin Democrat Russ Feingold, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senators Grassley and Schumer are also Senate Judiciary Committee members.
