In the first part of the program historian Jim O’Hara talked about the idea behind creating a new building for the Supreme Court. Built in the early 1930's and opened in 1935, it’s biggest champion was former President and Chief Justice William Howard Taft. However, when it opened, 7 of the 9 Justices refused to move into their new chambers in the building.

In the second part of the program Frank Gilbert talked about his grandfather, Justice Louis Brandeis, one of the seven who preferred the prior location of the Court in the U.S. Capitol. close
