Tomiko Brown-Nagin talked about her book, Courage to Dissent: Atlanta and the Long History of the Civil Rights Movement (Oxford University Press USA, 2011). Professor Brown-Nagin looks at the Civil Rights Movement in Atlanta and the differences between the activists who participated in it over three decades. Professor Brown-Nagin showed slides during her presentation and afterwards responded to questions from members of the audience. She spoke on April 20, 2011, in the Chapel of the University of Georgia Law School in Athens at this event sponsored by the student chapter of the American Constitution Society in partnership with UGA’s Institute for African American Studies, Department of History, African American Cultural Center, and Graduate and Professional Scholars.
