County officials from across the country attended the National Association of Counties' 2004 Legislative Conference at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta highlighted the economic benefits of a new transportation bill. He characterized the administration’s six-year $256 billion surface transportation bill as fiscally responsible and crucial to the nation’s economy and job growth.
