Stephen Golub, Swarthmore College Economics Professor argued that there is little threat to workers from developing nations because the workers in those countries have such low productivity. Lawrence Mishel, Econmomics Policy Institute responded that workers should be concerned about trade with developing countries because the wage advantage can overcome the productivity advantage, even in some high-technology industries. After their presentations, they took questions from the audience. This was part of a series of discussions on understanding economic inequality at the American Enterprise Institute. close
