The fictitious lawsuit focused on a petition by the Commonwealth of Virginia upon readmission to the Union following the Civil War claiming that the creation of the State of West Virginia had been Unconstitutional. Attorneys portrayed the Attorneys General of the states while three judges acted as the Supreme Court. close
