Despite the attention of the end of the Cold War and the Persian Gulf has received, they told the audience that the democratic revolution of the 1980s really began in Latin America. Virtually all of the North Hemisphere has moved, in some measure, to embrace Democratic forms of government and tried to put in place market-oriented economic systems. The panelists discussed the dramatic events that have been taking place to bring democracy to Latin America.
