Panelists talked about congressional oversight of the Homeland Security Department. Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge called the current oversight committee structure “archaic, antiquated and out of date,” saying Congress did not reform the process of oversight because of power struggles.

They spoke at an event hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center marking the 10th anniversary of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks report. close
