The Congressional Clearinghouse for the Future sponsored a speech by Daniel Yankelovich, a pioneer in public opinion research, entitled, “Coming to Public Judgement: Making Democracy Work in a Complex World.” In his speech, Mr. Yankelovich reflected on his work in public opinion research to discuss the apparent dissatisfaction of the American public with their government. He said a dialogue was absent between the percentage of the population who leads, the “inside the Beltway” group, and the rest of the American public. Mr. Yankelovich responded to questions from the audience following his prepared remarks. close
