Witnesses testified on the efficacy of private management for public schools. Mr. Benno Schmidt and Ms. Deborah McGriff proposed to set up a national school management structure. Mr. John Golle discussed his companies' experience in running public schools privately. In his testimony, Mr. Walter Amprey emphasized the need for systemic change to improve schools. Ms. Bella Rosenberg mentioned that a partnership has existed for many other services that schools use. Private companies are currently running public schools in Minneapolis, Miami Beach, and Baltimore. close
