Mr. Rosen talks about his book American Compact: James Madison and the Problem of Founding (American Political Thought), published by the University Press of Kansas. The author re-examines Madison’s philosophy on state-making, his ideas on the liberal foundations of government, and how he differed philosophically from Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
