Representatives of anti-abortion groups rallied outside the Dirksen Building, protesting the possible appointment of Senator Arlen Specter as Senate Judiciary Committee chairman. They said that if there are U.S. Supreme Court appointments during President Bush’s second term, they strongly objected to Senator Specter’s statement warning against anti-abortion nominees. They planned to try to talk with Republican majority leader Senator Frist about their concerns. After their presentations the participants answered reporters' questions.
