The 2005 National Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Conference was held to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the first Presidential Executive Order on HBCUs which established a program to overcome the effects of discriminatory treatment and to strengthen and expand the capacity of historically black colleges and universities to provide quality education.

Presidents of black colleges held a forum about the government’s role in the future of predominantly black colleges. Following their discussions they responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
