William Arkin talked about his book Code Names: Deciphering U.S. Military Plans, Programs, and Operations in the 9/11 World, published by Steerforth Press. He wrote about the naming of America’s covert operations, saying he believed that the code names were often given to certain operations to conceal information from journalists and the press that should have been public. He also talked about certain specific code-named operations in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
