Conservation advocates discussed the long-term impact of the Exxon Valdez oil spill to mark the 25th anniversary of the tanker’s March 24, 1989, accident in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Topics included damage payments, commercial fishing losses, and environmental recovery. They also discussed climate change and energy policy, including the dangers of offshore drilling and the prospects for other oil spills and how they could be avoided or better.
