Salman Rushdie read from his latest novel, Shalimar the Clown: A Novel, published by Random House. Following the reading, Leonard Lopate talked to Mr. Rushdie about his work and the current political situation in South Asia, including the dispute over Kashmir and the reaction to the recent earthquake in Pakistan. Mr. Rushdie also responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
