In the closing plenary session, participants talked about a report on the Honor States Grant Program initiative to improve high school and college-ready graduation rates. Sir Ken Robinson spoke on the topic “Back to Basics: Learning to be Creative.” In his remarks he talked about the challenge and importance of teaching students how to express creativity, the relationship between basic creativity and innovation in all fields of study, and methods of education reform that addressed future trends in the workforce and economy. He was the author of Out of Our Minds: Learning to Be Creative, published by Capstone.
