Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke to the United Nations Human Rights Council. They unanimously condemned Libya’s use of force against protesters, announced an investigation into the violence, and recommended that Libya be suspended from membership in the Council. In her remarks she was also critical of the work of the Human Rights Council, saying the council’s effectiveness had been hampered by diplomatic niceties and political interests. close
