Democratic presidential nominee Bill Clinton gave a speech at a stop on his campaign tour through the Midwest. He spoke before an estimated crowd of 15,000 people who listened on the dock from which Governor Clinton spoke, on boats in the Mississippi River, and from sound systems across the street from the riverfront park. Accompanied by his wife Hillary, his running mate Senator Al Gore and his spouse Tipper Gore, and local political leaders, he talked about some of his major campaign themes. close
