Winston Churchill’s grand-grandchildren, Randolph and Jennie Churchill, talked about their family’s American past. The former Prime Minister’s mother was born in Brooklyn in 1854 and met her future husband, Lord Randolph Churchill at a party when she was only 19 - resulting in a quick engagement. Her descendants argue that her “American” background made her a strong and determined woman who played a pivotal role in her son’s political career.
