Committee members heard testimony from medical experts on the use of chlorofluorocarbons in medical inhalers. They testified about how other propulsion methods in order to comply with the Clean Air Act which is phasing out the use of chlorofluorocarbons because they have been shown to contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer. They also examined how this transition could occur with little impact on patients who use medical inhalers, including sufferers of cystic fibrosis and asthma. close
