James Kynge talked about his book China Shakes the World: A Titan’s Rise and Troubled Future, and the Challenge for America, published by Houghton Mifflin. Mr. Kynge discussed how China’s hunger for foreign jobs, raw materials, energy, and food will reshape world trade, capital flows, and politics. He argued that China’s weaknesses such as environmental pollution, crisis in social trust, weak financial system, and faltering government institutions will have disruptive effects on the world. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. close
