Bishop Wilton Gregory announced the release of the National Review Board report established by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the accompanying statistical report commissioned from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice on the problem of sexual abuse by clergy. Bishop Gregory re-affirmed an apology to those harmed and committed to preventing a repetition. Archbishop Timothy Dolan, chair of the Committee on Priestly Life and Ministry, and Archbishop Harry Flynn, chair of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Sexual Abuse Committee, also made remarks.
