Following opening remarks by Deborah Hersman, Federal Aviation Agency, airline attendants, and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) members and staff talked about the best approaches to keeping children safe aboard planes. The Federal Aviation Administration does not require children under 2 be restrained in a car seat while flying, but it had recently recommended parents flying with children do so over the holiday season.
This program was part of a day-long NTSB forum on child passenger safety.
