Academics presented research findings on the effectiveness of political fact checking. Topics included how misinformation affects attitudes despite correction work, ways that journalists can increase the likelihood that fact checking will overcome misinformation, and the question of whether fact checking works or backfires. Justin Peters showed examples of exemplary print and broadcast fact checking. Several campaign ads were shown. The program included questions from audience members.
