Forbes Magazine held a reception at the Fort Myer Officers' Club to remember the late Caspar Weinberger after his burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Caspar W. Weinberger died on March 28, 2006, at the age of 88. He was the nation’s 15th, and longest serving, Secretary of Defense. He was the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission in January 1970 and served as the deputy and then director of the Office of Management and Budget, where he earned the nickname “Cap the Knife.” He also served as the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare from 1973 to 1975. Former Secretary Weinberger had served as executive editor and chairman of Forbes Magazine since 1993. close
